A real Guided Diagnosis can ask a short follow-up first, then expand into likely causes, urgency, checks and next actions. This is only a small preview of the full workflow.
How it works
From question to a useful next step.
Pick any tool — your car travels with you into every one of them.
01
Ask or describe the problem
Start in General Chat, choose your saved car, or jump straight into a specialist tool.
02
Narrow down what matters
Carlore asks only the clarification it needs and explains uncertainty instead of jumping to a confident guess.
03
Carry it into the next tool
Move into diagnosis, MOT, repair, cost, fuel, roadside help or a nearby garage with the same vehicle and result already attached — you never re-explain the car.
Official DVSA MOT records
Official MOT history, made useful.
MOT Intelligence turns the official record into plain English — for your car or one you're thinking of buying.
MOT status, expiry and complete test timeline
Recorded mileage changes across MOT tests
Repeated advisories, past failures and issue progression
History-led MOT Failure Intelligence and pre-MOT checks
Buyer viewing priorities and stronger seller questions
Carlore is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DVSA.

Connected Carlore
One car. One shared context.
When a result has a useful next step, tap it once. Carlore carries the result and selected vehicle into the next specialist automatically, starts the check and shows the new result—no copying, pasting or second Send button.
A concrete example: a repeated MOT advisory on your car can open a diagnosis already holding that vehicle and that advisory, then move into a repair plan, a UK cost range and a mechanic handoff for the same car. Asking a generic chatbot means describing the car again in every one of those five conversations.

Roadside Mode
When you are actually stuck, Carlore changes priorities.
Roadside Mode starts with safety and the situation you are in, then brings nearby repair and fuel into the same place before you continue into diagnosis or General Chat.
Carlore does not replace emergency or breakdown services. Safety-critical situations should be escalated rather than treated as roadside DIY.

My Car + MOT Intelligence
Keep the useful history with the car.
Your current car becomes one connected ownership view: MOT countdown, official mileage progression, maintenance and repair history, recorded spend and the issues worth checking next.
Ask about a symptom, warning light, MOT result, repair, likely cost or buying concern without choosing a specialist workflow first. Useful next actions appear when the conversation needs them.
A generic chatbot forgets your car the moment you close the tab. Carlore checks the real official record first, then remembers that car everywhere you go next.
Read a repeated MOT advisory, then open a diagnosis that already has that car and that advisory in front of it.
See your car's real DVSA MOT history and repeated advisory patterns — not a guess.
Check live finance, stolen marker, write-off, salvage, tax, recall and taxi history before buying — no generic chatbot has access to this.
Compare official nearby fuel prices without turning it into another AI request.
Know when a DIY check is sensible and when the car should go to a professional.
Take a clearer summary into a garage instead of arriving completely blind.

FAQ
Useful answers before you start.
What does Carlore do?
Carlore helps drivers understand car problems and decide what to do next. You can ask a question, diagnose a symptom, check official MOT history, plan a repair, estimate cost, compare nearby fuel prices, get roadside guidance or find a nearby garage.
Do Carlore tools work together?
Yes — that is the point of Carlore. Your selected vehicle and the result you are looking at are carried into the next specialist tool, so you do not rebuild the same story each time. For example, a repeated MOT advisory can open a diagnosis that already holds that car and that advisory, and the repair plan, cost estimate, garage handoff or buyer view that follows stays on the same vehicle.
Where does Carlore get MOT information?
MOT history is based on official DVSA records for supported UK vehicles. Carlore is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DVSA. It adds its own plain-English interpretation and pattern highlighting on top of the official record.
Where do Fuel Finder prices come from?
Fuel Finder uses official GOV.UK Fuel Finder forecourt and price data. Carlore adds nearby comparison, distance and simple savings calculations on top of that data without using AI to invent or estimate fuel prices.
Does Carlore replace a mechanic?
No. Carlore is AI-assisted decision support. It cannot physically inspect, hear, test or drive a vehicle. Verify important information before acting, and use a qualified professional for safety-critical, uncertain or specialist faults.
How do vehicle cases work?
A vehicle case covers one problem, not every click. In General Chat, one case includes up to five related replies before another case is used. Guided Diagnosis and Repair Guides include the clarification needed to reach the first result plus the first two related post-result follow-ups; after that, each next group of three related follow-ups uses another case. Photo Diagnosis and Buyer Reports use their own separate allowances. Fuel Finder, Roadside Mode, Nearby Garages and Garage Handoff do not use an AI vehicle case. Failed requests do not count, and included allowances reset each billing cycle.
How do Photo Diagnoses work?
One Photo Diagnosis can include up to three related images of the same issue. Carlore analyses those images with your description. Photos can add useful visible evidence but cannot reveal hidden or internal faults.
How does Garage Handoff work?
After a Guided Diagnosis or Repair Guide, you can open Garage Handoff, choose the current or a recent saved result and create a temporary read-only QR code. A mechanic can scan it to see the useful vehicle and issue context, but the QR does not give them access to your Carlore account. The pass expires after 24 hours and a newer pass replaces the previous one.
Can I use Carlore before buying a used car?
Yes. Buyer Check turns official MOT history into repeated-issue patterns, mileage context, viewing priorities and seller questions, and the Buyer Report adds live checks for outstanding finance, police stolen markers, insurer write-off category, salvage auction history, DVLA tax status, manufacturer safety recalls and taxi/private-hire use. It does not confirm hidden faults, service history or the vehicle's current physical condition — always view and inspect the car in person.
How is a Carlore Buyer Report different from a basic HPI check?
A typical UK HPI-style check covers finance, theft and write-off status. Carlore's Buyer Report includes those plus salvage auction history, tax status, manufacturer safety recalls and taxi/private-hire use in one report, and adds an AI-narrated verdict that explains what each result actually means for your decision instead of leaving you to interpret a raw data table.
Does Carlore check for manufacturer safety recalls?
Yes. Every Buyer Report checks for outstanding manufacturer safety recalls, and any saved vehicle on My Car can be checked for free — the fix for an open recall is free at a dealer, so it is worth knowing about before it becomes a bigger problem.
Can businesses partner with Carlore?
Yes. Garages, workshops, manufacturers, automotive brands, parts companies, fleets, technology companies, educators and other relevant organisations can send a partnership or collaboration enquiry through the Carlore partnership form.
